MEET OUR STAFF

Roy Maines, Jr.

Born and raised in Maryland, I have been involved in hunting since I was in diapers. My first memories of hunting were of my dad tying a safety rope to my waist as I climbed my way up in to the tree house that he called a deer stand. I knew then that the outdoors was something special and I have lived my life to be a part of it. I started guiding professionally 5 years ago and have enjoyed every second of it. Waterfowl hunting in particular drives me each and every season. If I'm not doing it, then I'm thinking about doing it. There is nothing like the sound of geese back peddling at 20 yards or the sound of duck wings buzzing overhead. The laughs, friends and memories of waterfowl hunting are irreplaceable ... I have been hunting for over forty years, I am a life member of both NRA and the North American Hunt club. My love of firearms and the right to keep them is only enhanced by my career in law enforcement. I have been a guide for over five years. The people you meet and the friends you make, doing something you love is Great. All of us here at Upper Chesapeake outfitters love to hunt as much as you do so give us a call and we will, GET ER DONE!!!.

Tony Lhotsky

My infatuation for the outdoors started around three or four years of age when my Father would take me to the shore and plop me in a pit.  I couldn’t see a thing but I could feel the rush that I still have to this day, whether it is a deer walking in, duck and geese locked on arrival, or landing a rockfish!   At the same age I was taught to row a boat that was tied to pier.  With years of practice I finally graduated to a powerboat at the age of 33.    Within those years I had the opportunity to travel, hunt, and fish, various areas of the United States, including numerous days in and around Maryland’s abundant waters and fields.  I have met some interesting people who have taught me a great deal.  With this I look forward to many more years of learning from the outdoors and hopefully able to teach others. I have been on the board with Maryland Water fowlers Association for a few years now and recently gotten involved with Delta Waterfowl.   My fulltime profession is in the horticulture industry and has helped me combine my two lifelong passions and acquire a Maryland Deer cooperator License to professionally help with the control and health of deer herd capacities.  Something sportsmen have been doing for years!!!  ~ See you out there ~ Tony Lhotsky

Leyla - "The Staff Retriever"

My name is Leyla. I am a pure bred Labrador Retriever. I just had a Birthday on May 1st of this year. I am very loving and playful but am also very serious about my job. I love my job. Not many can say that about the work they do, but I can honestly say it. When I gear up and head to the marsh or field it is all business. I am still training and I haven’t learned all of the tricks yet, but my boss has high expectations of me and I don’t plan on letting him down. I hope you will come gunning with us as I will thoroughly enjoy retrieving your birds for you. I hope to see you soon.
