One of the most intriguing waterfowl hunting techniques is Body Booting. There is something about standing in just a foot or two of water, several hundred yards off shore in a large spread of decoys with birds coming right for you at eye level, that will make your heart jump into your throat. We call this Body Booting.
This style of gunning became popular just after World War II along with Sink Boxes, Mud Boxes and sneak boats. While many of the Market Hunters used big bore guns mounted on sneak boats to slaughter the resting ducks at night, many sportsman gunned from the sink boxes and Body Boots. The old rubber suits that were worn were quite heavy and awkward, but the discomfort was well worth the reward. While sink boxes have been outlawed, Body Booting lives on.
